Why did you choose KU Wichita Pediatrics?
KU Wichita Pediatrics is where I trained in medical school! They have a small team, which means a lot of hands-on as a resident, and without any fellows we are able to manage most of the cases. It is also my hometown, so it was great to come back to the hospital I was born at!

Research/Special Interests:
I am interested in cardiac research. I have been working on a case report for a patient who was diagnosed with multifocal atrial tachycardia by an Apple watch, so I am looking at the role of personal technology devices and their future role in medicine!

What are your hobbies?

Year 1

Joshua Albright Joshua Albright, D.O.
Undergraduate school: Boise State University
Medical school: Pacific Northwest University

Where are you from?
Lakewood, Washington

Why did you choose KU Wichita Pediatrics?
I love the close relationships that everyone has here. After coming and doing a visiting rotation during my fourth year of med school, I came to appreciate how well the medical students, residents, attendings and specialists really care and know each other. It gives you a great learning opportunity in a good sized children's hospital while still having the family like feel of a smaller residency program, which was very important to me. Being in Wichita also brings a lot of pathology from rural areas and then having autonomy in the care team that isn't often seen in many larger cities.

Research/Special Interests:
Pediatric Cardiology

What are your hobbies?
I love to spend my spare time with my amazing wife and kids. Having all boys, that means a lot of that time is wrestling, fighting with weapons, Marvel superhero movies, and Legos. I also love to play the drums and swim.

Favorite part of Wichita:
I have a healthy (some may consider it unhealthy) love of candy, so Nifty Nut House is awesome!

Having gone to medical school here, I had the opportunity to work with many of our faculty and previous residents (including the now 3rd years). When I interviewed, I was extremely satisfied endless support and dedication to resident wellness and education I perceived from the entire staff; attendings, residents and administration.
