Residency General Information

Our four-year ACGME accredited program accepts three applicants each year. The residency requires a preliminary year of post-graduate education prior to beginning Diagnostic Radiology residency.

The Internal Medicine internship year at Wesley Medical Center is structured to provide a more varied experience for radiology residents. A rotating internship, under the supervision of the KU School of Medicine-Wichita Department of Internal Medicine, is designed to provide experience in multiple areas of medicine including two months in radiology.

The relatively small size of our program enables extensive hands-on training and one-on-one interaction with faculty members. We have excellent faculty with both fellowship training and extensive clinical experience in all areas of Diagnostic Radiology. Our residents are first in line for image-guided procedures, as there is no competition from fellows.

All reading stations include Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) with a voice recognition (Powerscribe) dictation system.
