fetal_monitoring_cath_model.jpg (17229 bytes)This versatile model provides a life-like simulation for performance of vaginal examinations and application of a fetal spiral electrode and intrauterine pressure catheter.  This three-dimensional model includes the fetal head, lower uterine segment and cervix made from life-like materials.  The fetal head has clearly palpable fontanelles and suture lines which allows determination of fetal position.  The vertex is well applied to the cervix in the lower uterine segment.

The fetal model is encased in a durable plastic case which allows for easy visualization of parts.  Nursing midwifery and medical professionals and students can easily perform vaginal examinations, assess dilation, palpate fetal fontanelles and suture lines, assess positon of the vertex, apply the fetal spiral electrode, check for correct placement of the electrode and insert the intrauterine pressure catheter.

The fetal head can also be removed to practice fetal spiral electrode application while visualizing the procedure.  The life-form material of the fetal head reseals with appropriate use of spiral electrodes.  The model can be lubricated with water-soluble gel to allow for easy insertion of the intrauterine pressure catheter.  All parts are easily removed for washing.  Excellent for teaching midwifery, nursing or medical students.  A practice/resource guide is included with directions for use.  Comes with carrying case.
