Carolyn Costin, MFT, who is recovered from anorexia, has specialized in the treatment of eating disorders and exercise addiction since 1977. Carolyn is founder and executive director of The Eating Disorder Center of California as well as Monte Nido and Affiliates, which now has 3 unique residential centers in natural, home-like settings. Carolyn is a sought-after speaker at national conferences and is known for engaging her audiences and giving hands-on skills. Carolyn's books, The Eating Disorder Source Book (2007), 100 Questions and Answers About Eating Disorders (2007), and Your Dieting Daughter (1997), have helped professionals and the public in understanding, treating, and preventing eating disorders. |

Beth Hartman McGilley, PhD, FAED, KU School of Medicine-Wichita Associate Professor, is a psychologist in private practice, specializing in the treatment of eating and related disorders, body image, athletes, trauma, and grief. A Fellow of the Academy for Eating Disorders (AED), Dr. McGilley has practiced for 25 years, writing, lecturing, supervising, directing an inpatient eating disorders program, and providing individual, family, and group therapy. She is Chair of the Health Club Task Force of the AED and a member of the AED Medical Protocol Committee. She is a member of the Association for Applied Sports Psychology (AASP) and is Co-chair of their Eating Disorders Special Interest Group. Dr. McGilley is a community activist, having co-founded Healing Path Foundation, a nonprofit foundation dedicated to the prevention and treatment of eating disorders in Kansas. She is a recent graduate of the Kansas Health Foundation Leadership Fellows Training program. She is also involved with a local Health & Wellness Coalition addressing weight and health concerns in Kansas youth. Dr. McGilley has addressed national and international audiences regarding eating disorders and body image concerns and has published in academic journals and the popular media as well as contributed chapters to several books. |

Anna Kowalski, MA, MFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University. She is the Assistant Clinical Director of the Monte Nido Residential Treatment Center in Agoura Hills, CA. In the 9 years Anna has been with Monte Nido, she has helped to open several of the affiliates and re-open the original Monte Nido in Calabasas, CA. Anna is the Program Coordinator of Bella Mar, a transitional living facility in Malibu, CA, that helps to transition Monte Nido alumni back into life after residential care. Anna's true passion is family therapy, and she leads the family therapy program at Monte Nido Vista. She helps families to reconnect with one another and open the lines of communication during what is often a long and difficult journey to recovery. Anna also has a private practice in Calabasas, CA. |
