Mr. Thomas has worked in diagnostic imaging physics for over 40 years.  Having recently come to the Wichita area in the summer of 2005, following a 33 year career in the United States Navy, he is the Diagnostic Medical Physicist/Radiation Safety Officer for Via Christi Regional Medical Center.  He is an experienced teacher, manager and researcher in diagnostic medical imaging and is nationally recognized as a pioneer in the development and implementation of digital imaging technologies and the electronic communication of medical images over networks to support diagnostic medicine.  He is regularly invited to give presentations on these topics at local, national and international conferences.  Jerry also has extensive experience teaching technologists, medical physicists and residents on medical imaging topics.  His research interests include Digital Mammography, Mammography Tomosynthesis, Imaging Workstation Design, Digital Imaging techniques and PACS.
