Research
The residency program staff realizes that some residents enter residency needing more assistance than others, so the research component is designed to maximize everyone's ability. Beginning with Research Methods Seminar in August, residents are introduced to the program requirements, resources available, and the research structure on the Wichita campus.
One completed research project of publishable quality is required for satisfactory completion of the residency program. Such projects include original research in the basic or clinical sciences related to radiology, case reports, review articles, or a poster presentation at a professional meeting. If accepted at a national or regional meeting the department will provide for expenses for the resident to attend the meeting. Several of our residents have presented at meetings in recent years. There will be active teaching staff participation in these projects.
