Conferences

All residents are expected to attend daily noon teaching conferences. Attending noon coverage is provided to allow resident participation. Conferences are presented by the radiology teaching staff, residents and various guest speakers, and cover all areas of diagnostic radiology with a mixture or didactic and traditional “hot seats”.  Lunch is provided at all conferences.

There are visiting professors periodically, joint sponsored with the South Central Kansas Radiological Society. The visiting professors present a dinner lecture, noon conference and a resident conference during their stay.

A formal course in the physics of radiology and radiation biology is given by a radiation physicist and is attended by all residents who have not taken Physics Written Boards.  The formal physics lectures start in January of the first year of radiology training.

An elective 7:00 – 8:00 am resident only conference occurs each day. This is a time for resident-to-resident teaching and review of ACR teaching files.
