Message From the Chair
The mission of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is to provide an exceptional pediatric education for medical students, residents and faculty in a community-based setting by modeling quality patient care and integrating evidence-based medicine. Teaching is truly our first priority.
Being a community based medical school students and residents build strong, meaningful relationships with faculty and amongst themselves. The Wichita community is very supportive of our residents as evidenced by the widespread involvement of community pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists as volunteer and part-time faculty.
During your pediatric residency you will gain the skills and knowledge to enable you to become either a successful general pediatrician or go on to subspecialty training. Our teaching hospital offers most of the advanced diagnostics and treatments available anywhere in the United States.
