Responsibility
The PC Classroom is a scheduled room with a standard setup and
is managed by Telecommunications and Audiovisual Support. The PC
Classroom is not an open lab for users to come and go. An open lab
is available for use in the Farha Medical
Library.
The department that schedules the room is responsible for the
room and for the individuals using the equipment in that room. This
includes insuring that the room is secure, that equipment has been
shut down at the end of the session and that the combination has
not been given out.
The combination will be changed regularly. Those scheduling the
room on a recurring basis will be given the combination. If you
regularly schedule the room for your department, please be
available to open the classroom for those people when they need to
get in. If you schedule the room for a one time use, a staff member
from Information Technology will open the room for you.

Setup
A standard setup is used for any class involving the following
software programs:
- Windows 98
- Internet Explorer 5.5
- Groupwise
- Microsoft Office Suite 2000 (Word, Excel, Access,
PowerPoint)
- SAS 6.11

If a non-standard program (or configuration) needs to be loaded,
at least one week needs to be allowed before the class in order to
provide adequate time to install and test the software. If
applicable, proof of purchase for the number of machines the
non-standard software is to be loaded on must be provided by the
Instructor before the software is loaded. Please contact Information Technology
Services (link to helpdesk e-mail) if you require
software loaded in the PC Classroom.
At no time shall the Instructor load the software themselves.
The Instructor needs to confirm the working setup at least one day
before the class.

Priorities
Classes are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis for all
University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita faculty, staff,
students and residents. If scheduling conflicts arise, all parties
will be involved in examining schedules to accommodate all
functions. Those classes or events that most closely align with the
mission of the school will get top priority.
