Residency Program

In 1977, under the leadership of the late Dr. William Reals, the three pathology residency programs (St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wesley Medical Center, and St. Joseph Hospital) in the city of Wichita merged to form a city-wide program under the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. At that time there were 32 faculty members and ten residency positions.

The graduates of our program have been practicing all over the United States, from Maine to California, with most graduates continuing their work in the state of Kansas. In 1990, the executive committee decided to discontinue the training program due to budget restraints. Although there is a possibility that this program may be reopened in the future, we are not accepting applications at this time. We thank you for your interest.
