GroupWise archiving is a process that will move your e-mail contents from your main GroupWise to the network drive S:\Dept\Username\Mail
Since this is a network drive, the data stored here is automatically backed up to tape each night
Archiving is important because it helps conserve space on the main GroupWise server, and keeps your active GroupWise mailbox smaller and more manageable
Archiving is set up to run automatically based on the age of the e-mail items
Manual archiving can be done on individual e-mail items that do not correspond with the age criteria set on the automatic archiving setup
IT Services highly recommends that you routinely clean out your main and archive Mailbox and Sent Items of unwanted e-mail messages, especially those that include attachments
Attachments, if needed, can be saved to a network drive, a CD or a flash drive
