WICHITA, KAN. - Scott Moser, M.D., has been appointed associate dean of curriculum at the KU School of Medicine-Wichita.
Moser has been teaching students full-time in the school's department of family and community medicine since 1998. The new job will allow him to assume responsibility of making the existing medical school curriculum more valuable for students.
Currently, medical students are in the classroom for the majority of their first two years of school and spend the next two gaining hands-on experience. Moser is looking to integrate both aspects of medical education into all four years with the goal of creating better doctors.
"I feel a great responsibility to provide medical services for future generations," says Moser.
Moser's appointment follows the departure of Dennis Valenzeno, Ph.D., former associate dean of medical sciences, who retired last month.
