Student Health Fee and Covered Services
The Student Health Fee is a required fee paid by students each semester. These fees contribute to the operational costs of the KU Wichita Adult Medicine.

Payment of the fee entitles the student to office visits with the specified health care provider as well as the student's first annual TB test.

Student Health Insurance
The KU School of Medicine-Wichita offers a health insurance policy for eligible students.

The plan is selected for the Kansas regents schools by the State of Kansas and is offered through KUMC Student Resources. For information about the current policy, visit

student examination Policies and guidelines pertaining to insurance coverage may vary according to the insurance company.

Provide proof of health insurance coverage that meets the health insurance requirements set forth by the KU School of Medicine-Wichita. Failure to comply with health insurance requirements may result in disenrollment.

Make two copies of the front and back of your insurance card. Send one copy to Academic and Student Affairs (ASA) and one copy to KU Wichita Adult Medicine.

If there is a change in insurance carrier, a copy of the front and back of the new card must be submitted as indicated above.

If you have questions, call Academic and Student Affairs 316-293-2603.

Charges for Services not covered by Student Health Fee
Charges will be assessed for routine physicals, well-woman exams, and certain other services offered at KU Wichita Adult Medicine including any TB tests after the first annual. Your health insurance company will be billed for all services not covered by the student health fee.

Screening procedures, examinations, and/or tests not covered by personal health insurance are billed directly to you. Other than office visits and the first annual TB test, students are responsible for all charges not covered by your personal health insurance.

The fee schedule for other tests, procedures, exams, and services is available upon request. Radiology and laboratory testing not listed on the fee schedule are charged at the usual rate for the clinic.

Payment (cash, check, or credit card) of co-pays and other charges are due upon receipt of the billing statement.

Services not performed at KU Wichita Adult Medicine, such as physical therapy and diagnostic services, are billed to your personal health insurance company by the provider of the service.
