Kansas Care Through Housing
Kansas Care Through Housing provides access to safe, affordable housing for clients living with HIV and AIDS throughout Kansas. Stable housing for persons living with HIV and AIDS is considered important to clients' overall health and prognosis. Clients are better able to adhere to medication regiments, keep regularly scheduled medical appointments, and maintain overall health and weight by having more resources for food and nutrition.

Clients access assistance directly through their Ryan White case managers; helping create a one-stop services resource for medical, psychological, community, and housing needs. Kansas Care Through Housing is a HUD (Housing and Urban Development) funded program that helps pay for housing and housing-related expenses. Anyone with HIV/AIDS whose income does not exceed 50% of the median income level can apply for assistance. Services include assistance with rent or utilities for 21 weeks in every 52-week period. Clients can access assistance with rental deposits, transitional and emergency housing, as well as moving expenses.
