Dr. Irwin is a graduate of Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Family Medicine Residency Program, where she also completed an operative obstetrics fellowship. Dr. Irwin completed a faculty development fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Business Administration in health care leadership for physicians at Rockhurst University. She was the residency program director for the KU School of Medicine-Wichita Family Medicine Residency at Wesley Medical Center for six years. She is active in organized medicine and serves on the board of directors for the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians as treasurer, and on the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation. She has served on the board of directors of the Family Medicine Residency Directors. Her clinical interests are quality improvement, and men's and women's health.
