Type the name of your journal title in the box and click search.
Click on the
initial letter of your journal title to move efficiently through the list
of titles.
Access to these online journals is available to KUSM-W affiliates while on
the KUSM-W campus, through VPN and /or through dial-up service.
PubMed
Perform a literature search in PubMed.
1) An icon with green at the beginning of the citation indicates free full text on the Web. Click on the green icon to move to the abstract format, then click on the publisher’s icon displayed under the journal title to get to the full text.
2) If full text is not offered free, then click Links to the right of the desired citation, then select LinkOut, then select the publisher of choice (e.g., MDConsult, OVID, or ProQuest Information). Alternatively, click Links, then Libraries, then click U and scroll down to see if University of Kansas Medical Center Archie Dykes Library indicates holdings for Electronic Full-text. Access to these online journals is available to KUSM-W affiliates while on the KUSM-W campus, through VPN and /or through dial-up service.
NOTE: User registration, a subscription fee, or some other type of fee may be required to access the full text of articles from some journals. Policies vary by provider and by journal. If a payment is required, it will be advantageous for KUSM-W affiliates to request the article through the Farha Medical Library's Interlibrary Loan Service, 316-293-2629.
MDConsult
Run a search in PubMed. Click Links to the right of the desired citation,
then select LinkOut, then select MDConsult Full Text when it is an option.
You will be prompted for your MDConsult username and password. After entering
the information, you will see the article. If you wish to print the article,
click the PDF icon on the top right side of the page or click Article PDF
on the left side bar.
Alternatively, search your topic in MDConsult, then select the Journals category and browse the article titles. When full text is available, you may click the Full Text icon or the PDF icon.
MDConsult passwords are available to KUSM-W affiliates. For more information, call the library (293-2629).
FreeMedicalJournals.com
Provides links to medical journals available without charge on the Web. The
list is international in scope. When searching for a particular journal title,
click English: by alphabetical order (or other language) in the column on
the left side of the page, then scroll down through the alphabetical list
to check for your title. A second option is Journals sorted by specialty.
