Important Dates/Announcements
New Sites
There are new clinics participating in the Walking Speed
as a Geriatric Vital Sign in Primary Care study. In Wichita,
clinics are: Alberto Carro, Antonio Osio, Center for Health
and Wellness, Hillside Medical Office, Larksfield Place,
and Wesley Family Practice. Other clinics involved are:
Medical Center, Hutchinson; Family Practice Associates,
McPherson; Smoky Hill Care Practice, Salina; Sumner County
Family Care Center, Wellington; and Family Care Center,
Winfield.
New Grant
The American Academy of Family Physicians awarded the
University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, Department
of Family Medicine and Community Health a grant for a
study titled, "Migraine Treatment in Community Family
Practice." This study will be implemented in some
KSPRN sites beginning January 2003.

Presentations
KSPRN studies were presented at the Eleventh Annual Research
Forum at The University of Kansas School of Medicine -
Wichita on October 8, 2002. Poster presentations of the
following studies were displayed: "End of Life Care
in Rural Communities: Preliminary Data from the Kansas
Practice Research Network;" "Unintentional Dislosures
of Patient Confidential Information: Preliminary Data
from the Kansas Practice Research Network;" "Primary
Care Network Survey: Preliminary Data from the Kansas
Practice Research Network;" and "Pharmacy to
Physician Communications : A Pilot Study."
