What is a JayStar?
A JayStar provides an opportunity to show employees that their work and dedication to KUSM-W is valued and appreciated. It is a spot award recognition program designed to acknowledge and reward employees for going above and beyond their normal duties to assist a fellow coworker. A JayStar provides an opportunity to say "thanks" to employees who are doing a great job with immediate on-the-spot recognition.
An employee may be nominated for a JayStar for taking on extra duties, volunteering for special projects, contributing to the success of the University by serving on committees or making suggestions that improve a process or allow work to be done more efficiently.
How do I nominate someone for a JayStar?
It's simple! Go online and complete a brief nomination form from Human Resources. HR will take it from there and work with the nominated employee's supervisor to deliver the JayStar award. Anyone may nominate an outstanding employee for a JayStar award.
The JayStar recipient will receive a certificate and gift to recognize their contributions.
Who is eligible to receive a JayStar?
KUSM-W employees and employees of the MPA may be nominated for an award.
