"The Oil Palette Show" "The Oil Palette Show," 12-15 oils by members of the Wichita Oil Painting Society, will be on display Aug. 4-Sept. 29, in the William J. Reals Gallery of Art-East at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. A public reception honoring the artists is 2:30-3:15 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4, in the gallery area. The Society's mission is to contribute to the encouragement of the development of art and to serve as a nucleus for interest and information of the arts. The non-profit organization carries out educational programs for members and works in cooperation with the city and surrounding communities to offer encouragement in all forms of art and culture to the public. The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is available during regular gallery hours, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The building is closed to the public Saturdays and Sundays. The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community focused medical education. Since the first class graduated in 1975, more than 1400 physicians have earned medical degrees here. About half of these eventually established practices in the state, fulfilling KUSM-W's promise, "Educating Doctors for Kansas." |
