"Wichita Women Artists" "Wichita Women Artists," an exhibition of approximately 30 acrylics and oil paintings, will be displayed in the William J. Reals Gallery of Art - East at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, Feb. 3 - March 31. A public reception will be 2:30 - 3:15 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3, in the gallery area. Wichita Women Artists has been in continuous existence since 1950. It meets monthly to promote and encourage members in their creative growth as artists. Membership is capped at 40. The group has three or four exhibits during the year in and around Wichita, according to organization sources. At the same time, members are teaching or attending workshops, entering regional and national juried shows and are active members of other art organizations. The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is available during regular gallery hours, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The building is closed to the public Saturdays and Sundays. The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community-oriented medical education. Since the first class graduated in 1975, 1,398 physicians have earned medical degrees. About half of these eventually established practices in the state, fulfilling KUSM-W’s promise of “Educating Doctors For Kansas.”
