”Sprites Of My Garden,” an exhibit of 15 colored pencil drawings
by Martha Roach, will be on display Oct. 3 - Nov. 28, in the William J. Reals
Gallery of Art-East at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita.
A public reception honoring the artist is 2:30-3:15 p.m., Friday, Oct. 3, in
the gallery area. Roach, a Newton resident, is a native of northeast Kansas. She earned a bachelor's degree in Art Education from the University of Kansas, and, for the past 18 years, has taught art, Spanish, or both in several school districts in south central Kansas, including Cheney, Hillsboro and Haysville. The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is available during regular gallery hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The building is closed to the public Saturdays and Sundays. Since the first class graduated in 1975, nearly 1250 physicians have earned medical degrees here. About half of these graduates eventually established practices in the state, fulfilling KUSM-W's promise, "We Educate Doctors to Serve Kansans." |
