“Landscapes, Still Lifes and Flowers,”16 oil and watercolor paintings by Jerry Osment, will be displayed in the William J. Reals Gallery of Art - East at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, April 1 - May 27. There will be a public reception, 2:30-3:15 p.m., Friday, April 1, in the gallery area.

Geraldine (Jerry) Osment received her fine arts degree from Wichita University in 1950. She worked as a commercial artist and industrial designer from 1948 to 1955, when she stopped commercial activities to devote more time to family and volunteer work. She resumed showing and selling her art work in 1993, winning numerous awards in local, regional and national exhibitions.

The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is available during regular gallery hours, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The building is closed to the public Saturdays and Sundays.

The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community-oriented medical education. Since the first class graduated in 1975, more than 1,350 physicians have earned medical degrees. About half of these eventually established practices in the state, fulfilling KUSM-W’s promise, “We Educate Doctors For Kansas.”
