On display February 1- March 28, 2008

Gallery East

Gene Marsh, MD.

“Art, Music and Mystery,” an exhibit by Gene Marsh, MD, will be held Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, from 2:30-3:15 p.m., in the William J. Reals Gallery of Art-East, at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, 1010 N. Kansas. The exhibit, which runs from Feb. 1, through March 28, 2008, consists of 15 oil and acrylic paintings. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Marsh has enjoyed multiple opportunities to view art work around the world in noted museums as the Louvre in Paris, the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, and the National Gallery in London. Psychological interests such as associated arts, music, dream imagery, war and politics have all been instrumental in developing Marsh’s art into an intricate mixture of diverse origins. Recently, he has been working with the concept that formal written language prevents us from seeing what is reality.

The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community-oriented medical education. Since the first class graduated in 1975, 1,504 physicians have earned medical degrees. About half of these eventually established practices in the state, fulfilling KUSM-W’s promise of “Educating Doctors For Kansas.”
