“Fantasy and Nature”

Sleeping Dragon

”Fantasy and Nature,” 15 pieces by Howard R. Levy, will be displayed in the William J. Reals Gallery of Art-East at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, Aug. 1- Sept. 26. There will be a public reception, 2:30-3:15 p.m., Aug. 1, in the gallery area.

Levy is a native of New Castle, Del., who earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting (1991) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education with teaching certification (1997) from Kansas State University. He currently lives in Arkansas City, where he teaches art, kung fu and tai chi.

The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is available during regular gallery hours, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The building is closed to the public Saturdays and Sundays.

The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community-based medical education.

Since the first class graduated in 1975, nearly 1250 physicians have earned medical degrees here. About half of these graduates eventually established practices in the state, fulfilling KUSM-W's promise, "We Educate Doctors to Serve Kansans.
