Seventeen oil and acrylic paintings by the Kansas Art Guild will be displayed Oct. 1 - Nov. 26, in the William J. Reals Gallery of Art-East at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. There will be a public reception, 2:30-3:15 p.m., Friday, Oct. 1, in the gallery area. The Kansas Art Guild is organized to foster interest in all phases of fine arts, and to promote the highest standards of professionalism in the production of fine art. It offers an educational program for members and encouragement to children in all forms of art and culture. The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is available during regular gallery hours, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The building is closed to the public Saturdays and Sundays. The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community-oriented medical education. Since the first class graduated in 1975, more than 1,350 physicians have earned medical degrees. About half of these eventually established practices in the state, fulfilling KUSM-W’s promise, “We Educate Doctors For Kansas.” |
