"Our Land" Johanna Hanks On display July 12-Aug. 16 Gallery East “Our Land,” an exhibit of watercolors by Johanna Hanks, will be on display July 12-Aug. 16, in the William J. Reals Gallery of Art-East at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. A public reception honoring the artist is 2:30 – 3:15 p.m., Friday, July 12, in the gallery area. “When I look at different scenes, I can only hope to create the mood of the moment,” Hanks says. “That is why some works show more color and texture, while others do not. For me, color and value set the mood.” The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is available during regular gallery hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The building is closed to the public Saturdays and Sundays.
