“Demystifying Reclamation” by Virginia Mills Garrison

“Demystifying Reclamation,” 16 acrylic paintings by Virginia Mills Garrison, will be displayed Dec. 3, 2004, to Jan. 28, 2005, in the William J. Reals Gallery of Art-East at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. There will be a public reception, 2:30-3:15 p.m., Friday, Dec. 3, in the gallery area.

A graduate of Kansas State University, Garrison is a member of the Kansas Art Guild and Women in the Arts. She incorporates into her art her rural Kansas roots and her life experiences in Latin America, striving for the tangible expressions of her emotions through color and design.

The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is available during regular gallery hours, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The building is closed to the public Saturdays and Sundays.

The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community-oriented medical education. Since the first class graduated in 1975, more than 1,350 physicians have earned medical degrees. About half of these eventually established practices in the state, fulfilling KUSM-W’s promise, “We Educate Doctors For Kansas.”
