WICHITA, KS – A public reception for “Bobbin Lace, Not a Dying Art!” an exhibit by Melanie Runge -- where she will demonstrate the art of making bobbin lace -- will be held from 2:30-3:15 p.m., Thursday, October 8, in the main lobby of the KU School of Medicine-Wichita, 1010 N. Kansas. The exhibit, which runs through November 27, 2009, consists of 15 pieces of bobbin lace and is free and open to the public from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, in the William J. Reals Gallery of Art-East. The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community-oriented medical education. Since the first class graduated in 1975, more than 1,600 physicians have earned medical degrees. About half eventually established practices in the state, fulfilling the school’s promise of “Educating Doctors for Kansas.” |

A public reception for “Statuary Series: A Closer Look at Lawn Statuary in the Settings in Which They Reside,” an exhibit by Beth Barritt Wiechman will be held from 2:30-3:15 p.m., Friday, September 4, in the West Atrium of the KU School of Medicine-Wichita, 1010 N. Kansas. The exhibit, which runs through October 30, 2009, consists of 10 watercolors and is free and open to the public from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, in the William J. Reals Gallery of Art-West. The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community-oriented medical education. Since the first class graduated in 1975, 1,608 physicians have earned medical degrees. About half eventually established practices in the state, fulfilling the school’s promise of “Educating Doctors for Kansas.” |
