"Shades of Ireland," an exhibit of 14 photographs by Donna Bennett, will be displayed Feb. 6 - March 26, in the William J. Reals Gallery of Art-East at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. There will be a public reception, 2:30 - 3:15 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6, in the gallery area. Bennett grew up in New England and Michigan prior to moving to Wichita some 20 years ago. A New Englander at heart, she loves photographing the ocean and all things natural. She holds a degree in music and literature from Michigan State University and a BSN in nursing from St. Mary of the Plains College, Dodge City, Kan. The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is available during regular gallery hours, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The building is closed to the public Saturdays and Sundays. The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community-based medical education. Since the first class graduated in 1975, nearly 1300 physicians have earned medical degrees here. About half of these graduates eventually established practices in the state, fulfilling KUSM-W's promise, "We Educate Doctors to Serve Kansans." |
