"Off The Beeton Path" “OFF THE BEETON PATH,” an exhibit featuring Flint Hills Photography by Ron Beeton, will be presented Dec. 1- Jan. 26, 2007, in the William J. Reals Gallery of Art-East, KUSM-W. The exhibition will consist of approximately 10 photographs. There will be a public reception in the gallery area, 2:30-3:15 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Beeton began his photography work after the completion of a degree in Fine Arts with an extensive Portfolio of the “Pioneer Square” area of Seattle, Washington, and later expanded to views of the Kansas Countryside. In the mid-seventies, he developed an Old-Tyme Photo Shop based out of Branson, Missouri that traveled throughout the mid-west. In the early 1980’s, he worked for the Raytheon Corporation as a commercial photographer, assisting with the creation of interactive videos to train pilots, and later developed a thriving athletic photography clientele for club and high school soccer teams. Throughout the years, he has maintained his love and fascination for the landscapes of Kansas developing an extensive portfolio of the Flint Hills area. The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita is nationally recognized as a pioneer in community-oriented medical education. Since the first class graduated in 1975, 1,458 physicians have earned medical degrees. About half of these eventually established practices in the state, fulfilling KUSM-W’s promise of “Educating Doctors For Kansas.”
