KUSM-W students have free access to UpToDate, a clinical electronic resource designed to provide current answers to patient care, diagnosis, and treatment questions, thanks to generous funding from the Earl L. Mills Trust. The resource provided practical recommendations written by recognized experts who synthesize the best available medical evidence with the best practices.
UpToDate can be accessed from the QuickLinks menu on the Library homepage.

uCentral (Unbound Medicine) has been updated with the latest edition of 5-Minute Clinical Consult (5MCC). Now patrons have access to 5MCC 2016 which includes new and updated topics, additional algorithms, and a completely revised health maintenance section.

Brand new feature available in uCentral/Unbound Medicine. Grasp allows you to build and share study decks of flashcards from the uCentral resources. When you initially launch Grasp, there will be on screen instructions to get you started. Additional information can be found here.
A wide variety of subject guides, including a Mobile Applications Guide, were created and are maintained by our talented library colleagues at the A.R. Dykes Library at the Kansas City campus.

KUSM-W has acquired a site license for our students for Unbound Medicine, a collection of popular medical textbooks available online as well as through the uCentral app on your personal mobile device. Available electronic titles from Unbound Medicine provided by funding from the Dean's Club include 5-minute Clinical Consult & Harrison's Manual of Medicine.
The following instructions will assist you in accessing Unbound Medicine as well as accessing the uCentral app from your mobile device. If you have any questions or problems accessing Unbound Medicine, please contact the library at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To access Unbound Medicine from off-campus computers, or to access the uCentral app from your mobile device, you will first need to sign up for an account with Unbound Medicine. Once you have signed up, you will use your Unbound Medicine user name and password to gain full access to the uCentral app.
There are three ways to sign up 1. Access the URL http://unboundmedicine.com/unbound from a KUSM-W campus computer; 2. Request an email sign up invitation from the library at email@example.com; or 3. Access the site from home while connected to the KUSM-W Virtual Private Network (VPN.) Computers are available in the Farha Medical Library and the ASA student center lounge. If you would like to sign up for a VPN account, please contact the Help Desk at 293-2605, option 1, for more information.
When you upload the Unbound Medicine URL, you will receive an opening screen. Note the Welcome message in the upper right hand corner, indicating that you have been recognized as a KUSM-W user. When accessing Unbound Medicine from on-campus computers (or via VPN), you will have full access to the online version of Unbound Medicine content.
