Facilities Policies - Capital Outlay Equipment

Facilities Management ensures equipment tags are applied to assets of $5,000 or more and annually inventories these assets as required by state policy. Any item belonging to the state, no matter how acquired, whether purchased, manufactured, transferred from another state agency, acquired by gift or surplus, shall be included on the annual inventory list (PPM 13001).

If a department requires equipment or furniture to be moved, an on-line work request needs to be submitted. If the asset is greater than $5000.00, please complete the Capital Equipment Form as well.

Items no longer owned, needed or wanted by the department should be placed in surplus through Facilities Management for general equipment and Network and Technology Support for computer equipment. Once the asset is removed from your area, remove it from the inventory listing. Please contact Facilities Management for the proper procedure to surplus equipment and to determine what forms are required.
