Ethics Roundtable

Ethics Roundtable is a forum for students to discuss issues in medicine that do not have an easy answer. Mediated by several faculty advisers adept in such topics, conversation about a true patient case flows as opinions are aired and questions are raised. This group gives students a safe environment to experience other people's point of view and practice voicing their own. The core values of beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy and distributive justice are reiterated throughout these discussions, and hopefully, everyone leaves with a little more understanding of the topic at hand.

Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS)

The University of Kansas School of Medicine chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, sponsored by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation, recognizes third year medical students and faculty who have displayed outstanding humanistic and professional behaviors and the highest standards of compassion and sensitivity in their interactions with patients, faculty, student peers, and institutional administration. Students inducted into the society will have the honor noted in the Dean's Letter and will also be recognized at graduation.
