Frequently Asked Questions

If I have a picture taken of an individual or group of individuals, do I need their permission to use that picture in a publication?

Depends on the purpose of the publication. It is best to assume that you do need their permission. Contact Educational Technology if you have questions.

How fast can I get slides made from PowerPoint?

If the total quantity is less than 50 slides - two working days. If over 50 slides - three working days. If you need the job sooner than this, an additional 30% rush fee is applied and the turnaround time is reduced by one day.

Can I purchase film from Educational Technology?

Yes. 24-exposure rolls are available. See the price list for cost.

I am setting up a PowerPoint presentation for 35mm slides. Is there anything special I should do?

Yes. You must convert the layout to a 35mm layout. Follow the procedure below.

  • Click on "file" at the top left of your PowerPoint screen, then on "page-setup," drop down on that menu to "35mm slides." This converts the entire presentation to the format required for printing to 35mm film.
  • Review all the slides, making sure that all text, tables, bulleted lists, etc. are all spaced the way you had intended for your presentation. Converting to the 35mm slides format can sometimes shift various elements, making your presentation look unprofessional.
  • At this point, make any corrections necessary, and do a "file-save-as" and rename this version of your presentation. A good name might be "yourfilename_35mm.ppt".
  • You are now ready to send the file to Educational Technology to have the 35mm slides made.
