Contract Policies

AFS is responsible for maintaining the official contract files for all agreements executed by the school which are related to the school's role in the education of medical students and residents. Copies of contracts are provided to the department upon full execution.

Chancellor Robert E. Hemenway has delegated authority to approve contracts for KUSM-Wichita to the Wichita Dean. No other employee may sign a lease, agreement, or contract for KUSM-Wichita. If you are not sure if the document you have is a contract, please send it to AFS for review.

Each chair will notify the Associate Dean for Administration of any changes needed to the next fiscal year's teaching and professional services contracts. AFS staff will make revisions and a proposed redlined draft will be sent to the chair for approval. After the chair has reviewed and approved the contract, the contract is then routed by AFS for required approvals and signatures, both within and without the school. After completion, a copy of each fully executed contract will be furnished to the department chair.
