Budget Services Policies

The Wichita Budget Office enters 1) salary and OOE budgets on-line for the new fiscal year in late May or early June, 2) salary budgets for new employees, 3) salary budget changes as they occur during the fiscal year (salary budget changes are usually due to the award of a new grant), and budget transfers between OOE and telecom.

The department initiating a change to a salary budget MUST coordinate with AFS, and the school's Human Resources department and be approved by the Associate Dean of Administration. All changes to operating and telecom budgets (OOE) must be coordinated between AFS and the departments making the change. Please contact Kim Shore, at ext. 3-3570 regarding the process.

AFS is available to help determine salary budget changes needed for employees.  Salary increases due to position upgrades or reclassification must be reviewed and approved by the Wichita Director of Human Resources and the Associate Dean of Administration.  All requests for new employee positions or requests to fill vacant positions shall be submitted on-line to the Wichita Director of Human Resources and the Associate Dean of Administration for review and approval.  The funding source for the position must accompany the request.

Training on budget procedures will be held prior to the beginning of budget activities. AFS will contact each department as to the time of the training session(s).
